We cater to the trip-hop/downtempo/electronic genres of music, but we don’t limit it to labels when good music is made.
I’m still a fan of all music that moves me.
Ever so often, you hear a band with such a raw and emotional sound that it restores your faith in music.
I first heard of Red City Radio when they stayed at my house after a show. To be honest, I was in and out of the bar so much I didn’t get a chance to really see them live. My friends in the local opening band asked if Red City Radio could crash at my house, and as someone who has toured in a band and depended on strangers for 4 walls to sleep in, I decided to pay it forward to these guys. We had a good time hanging out and drinking till almost dawn, talking about music and bands.
A few days later my friend told me I should check out the album, so eventually I decided to give it a listen. I couldn’t believe what I heard, and how I almost let this band just pass by.
I felt like I was hearing the anthem of why I even picked up a guitar in the first place, so many years ago. True rock in roll should always give you that rush when you listen to it for the first time. The songwriting was deep and honest, and the music was just as passionate and straightforward. Really, I could go on and on and make a long drawn out blog about these guys, but I invite you to let the music speak for itself without letting my words get in the way. If you like what you hear, please go and support them, these guys are completely self made.
